Libby Weir is a professional artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) and a Masters of Visual Art from the University of Alberta.  She has been actively pursuing her art career in Alberta, Ontario, Saskatchewan and Manitoba for more than 25 years and has an active exhibition record, nationally and internationally, including the: Margaret Harvey Gallery, University of Herfordshire (England); National Museum of Botswana (Africa); Winnipeg Art Gallery (Manitoba); Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba; Mendel Art Gallery (Saskatchewan); and Edmonton Art Gallery (Alberta).  
Libby has participated in a number of internationally renowned artist workshops including Emma Lake (Saskatchewan), Sheffield Lake (Ontario) and has twice been the guest artist at the Thapong International Artists’ Workshop in Botswana (Africa).  
Libby has worked as an art instructor for universities, communities and arts organizations, including as a Sessional Instructor for Brandon University in Manitoba.   Libby was the recipient of a Manitoba Foundation for the Arts Above & Beyond Award for the Arts in 2006 for the quality of her arts education programming in rural and remote schools throughout Manitoba.  She has also delivered arts programming at various schools in Alberta as part of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Artists & Education Program and in Rwanda (Africa) as part of the
the Right to Read - Rwanda Project led by Tools for Schools, a Canadian not for profit organization.
Weir’s work is included in the collections of the: Winnipeg Art Gallery; Government of Manitoba; Mendel Art Gallery (Saskatchewan); Saskatchewan Art Board; University of Alberta; National Museum of Botswana (Africa); and numerous corporate and private collections.
